This project is a combination of the UX and UI Design processes. Nova Poshta is a Ukrainian delivery company with a huge logistic network. In duty, each manager has over 70 staff personnel and needs an effective instrument to manage the team.

The goal of the project

The project’s main task was to create a universal desktop dashboard for the manager. The program has to help him control quality, delivery dispatch, plan the workload of the department and control the work of employees.

The description

All work started with identifying the main problems to be solved. I've used the user-centred method to understand what tools and main characteristics a manager should use in his daily work, which information is the most important, and how he could use it to reduce losses and costs. I created a mockup of interaction for whole this massive of data and a concept of usage with it by the manager.

The UI Design part was to find a colour palette, create good contrast and typography for titles. Also, I design a little set of icons for those dashboards. The most difficult part was to create the layout and the proper hierarchy of the elements. But each time I've used the user-centred method to decide what element should take more attention. Special colours help to identify the status of the critical indicators.

Detailed information about package

At the Package Dashboard manager receive detailed information about every specific parcel with the operator's name. At the bottom are two graphics indicating the damaged packages' conditions and costs.

At this dashboard, managers can investigate each package and use this information to improve the performance of responsible workers and decrease the costs of delivery.

Monthly and weekly package statistics

The Calendar Dashboard contains the summarized monthly information about the work of the department and statistics for each work day. When the user press on the specific cell, he can observe weekly and monthly data for this parameter.

Such parameters like “Average days on the route”, “Average time for 1 package” and “Damaged packages” managers can use to resolve issues with logistics and find weak points in the work processes of the department.

Employees average productivity

The main information about each worker KPI’s performed at the Employee Dashboard and divided into 3 categories of professions: drivers, loaders and operators. Each category has different parameters for work efficiency. At the bottom, a manager can see the overall workload and statistics for each group of personnel.

The purpose of this dashboard is to balance the workload between the main groups of staff. And use a personal approach to some people that have issues with work operations.

Summary

I produced a high-fidelity prototype with 4 work modes. After implementing small edits from the senior designer customer received this project. During the work on the dashboard, I've learned to watch the problem from different angles and transform it into design solutions.
